My family and I decided to try the new LUA Asian fusion restaurant in San Clemente, California. Let me start by saying that the service was exceptional and the food was amazing! The smoked Pho was amazing! The best broth we’ve had since the San Francisco Bay Area. We also ordered the yellow curry with chicken and it was also so flavorful!! I ordered the chicken and rice dish. I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of the dish but the sauces are what really made this dish! The staff was so kind to us that they even gave us free flan! We also ordered the fried banana dessert with ice cream. Everything was delicious and everyone there was so nice! We will definitely be back!

I can't recommend this place highly enough. All the food was excellent. The standouts were the mapo tofu and the Hainan chicken. Everything we got was so delicious though. Also, the service was excellent. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.

Visited this place for the first time and we were happy we did. Service was outstanding, interior decor was impeccable and the best of all, the food was great! We ordered the smoked pho, crispy branzino lettuce wrap, vermicelli noodles and few other dishes. We've been to many pho places but the smoked pho served here was the best I've tried. Smoked meat was tender and flavorful and the broth was rich in flavor. Another highlight was the crispy branzino lettuce wrap. It was one of the best dishes we've had in a long time. The crispy branzino tasted amazing but itself, but even more so when we had it wrapped in garnished lettuce. The vermicelli noodles were also so good with clean ingredients. As for drinks, I usually don’t drink anything sweet and the waitress offered to make unsweetened jasmine milk tea. The organic Acai sorbet was a perfect dessert; clean and less sugary way to wrap up the dinner. Can’t wait to come back!

Some of my favorites were Brisket pho - brisket just melts in your mouth but a bit oily Mapo tofu - deep fried tofu was a highlight compared to other traditional mapo tofu I had in the past. Branzino - Must try chef’s special!

What a fantastic meal at LUA Asian Fusion Eatery! We met an old friend here that we hadn't seen in 16 years. It was a wonderful reunion so we ordered a little of several dishes. The highlights of the meal were the pho, garlic noodles, and baos. For drinks we tried a few of their mocktails which were refreshing and delicious. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was hip and comfortable with good music playing in the background. I can see why they have an average 5 star rating. I'm here to add another 5 star review for their solid food and excellent experience. Thank you for a delightful meal!

The ambiance is perfect for this location near the coast. Nestled inside the restaurant was their delicious Smoked Pho. They don’t kid with the smokiness of the short ribs. Our host Taylor was spot on in recommending leaving the Smoked Pho as prepared by their chef. The broth has a unique taste of seasoning. Sizzling Bo Kho gave our taste buds another treat, with its tender braised beef. I kid you not, it was tender alright! Blended with the beef were potato wedges and carrots ... perfect for this ‘’meat and potatoes” kind of guy. To start off our visit today, we had the Crispy Egg Rolls, and to cap it off at the end we enjoyed their Banana Fritter with vanilla ice cream. My family looks forward to returning again soon!

After spending 3 weeks in northern and central Vietnam, we were looking forward to trying the food and especially the pho at Lua in Dana Point. It did not disappoint. The ribeye and broth were served in a large bowl with the right amount of spice and rice noodles. The broth is satisfying and reminded me of the pho we had in Vietnam. The servers are very attentive and they make you feel welcomed. I understand the chef is from Vietnam and the menu reflects key dishes from Vietnam We’ll be returning soon!

Amazing food at this special gem of a restaurant. So great for meat eaters and non meat eaters alike, something for everyone! Banh mi was outstanding, yellow curry (vegan) flavorful, vegan spring rolls and dipping sauce excellent, and the smoked pho to die for. Our second time. Highly recommend and will be back again and again.
